Pu-erh is a simple black tea that comes from the inland region of China in the Yunnan Province. Historically this tea was grown inland and then carried through the forests towards the shore in large earthenware containers. Once at the shoreline the containers are then buried in the ground for anywhere between 5 months to 5 years. What is particularly special about this tea is its reputed anti-cholesterol properties. The process that this tea goes through before being brewed gives Pu-erh a distinguished earthy quality and taste with a full body and aroma.
